Groom One Certificate Program |

The Groom One Certificate consists of four phases including: |
| |
hands-on orientation session conducted by Equine Guelph,
six month work term where students are assisted in finding a work placement,
12 week online interactive course hosted by the Office of Open Learning,
skills assessment. |

PHASE THREE - May 17 to August 8 - Groom One Online,
This computer based educational course is a unique opportunity for students to continue to work in their home community while attending classes via the internet. The CD based units are complemented by online discussions & presentations with industry mentors.

- The Horse: identification, anatomy, physiology, gaits & behaviour
- Horse Handling: basic handling skills & safety
- Horse Care: horse health & disease prevention
- Nutrition: feeds & feeding
- Management: Daily routines, safety, tack & equipment
- The Racing Community: rules & employment issues
