Sunday, August 23 Adrenaline presents Horseplay, a day dedicated to fun activities, educational programs and more for the whole family, with the star of the show being the horse, of course!!

Kids will learn all about horses, their colours and how to examine a horse by its body and facial markings. Quattro, the full sized horse skeleton will be there with SeeMore the full sized painted horse and will be used to show kids the anatomy of the horse. Kids can also learn how to braid horses’ tails and wrap their legs. Puzzles, horse crafts, colouring books, EquiMania workbooks, and participation ribbons are sure to keep the children happily occupied. EquiMania is open Saturday August 22nd from 12-6:30pm and Sunday from 10:30 am until 5 pm.

Equine education continues with “Hands on Horses” in which children get a tour of the paddock to observe what horses, drivers, and trainers do to get ready for a race. The kids will then get to meet the pros and a farrier. On track the Ontario Harness Horse Youth Camp will feature campers competing in exhibition races with the Youth Camp horses.

At noon, the kids can exert their energy and see what it’s like to run a 5/8’s mile racetrack in the Giddy Up and Gallop Charity Fun Run. Entry into this 1 lap (1 km) race is $15.00 for kids 14 years and under. Before the kids race, there will be the invitational Mascot Dash featuring TROT 4 Kids’ mascot Willie Win. The mascots will compete in a 100 meter dash for the Adrenaline title! Profits from Giddy Up and Gallop will benefit the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, a charity that makes dreams come true for children who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. The first 200 registered runners will receive a complimentary souvenir t-shirt and all participants are welcome to stay for the remaining events.

Families can also enjoy the Famous McCann’s Dog Show on Sunday with shows at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. These world champion canines will leap through hoops, race through tunnels, jump over hurdles and test their balance on teeter totters. This event is enjoyable for both young and old, dog and human and comes free with regular admission!

As you can see, there is something for everyone at Adrenaline so bring the whole family out to Horseplay Day at Hiawatha Horse park on Sunday August 23rd to make sure that no one misses out on the fun!
