Ride Day offered activities for the whole family to enjoy, including: trail rides, lead line rides, and Equine Guelph’s popular EquiMania! Education Centre. Over 30 riders came out to support Equine Guelph by hitting the trails. Riders of all experience levels, including a few participants who had never ridden a horse before, enjoyed an hour-long trail ride through meadows, forest, and water. Participants included OEF President, Jack de Wit; OEF Director, Mark Dobrindt; Ontario Trails Council Executive Director, Patrick O’Connor; and representatives from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) and Ministry of Health Promotion, including the Dean of OVC, Elizabeth Stone and the Acting Director of Sport Recreation, Craig Stewart.

Following the ride, participants had the opportunity to enjoy a BBQ lunch with OEF Directors and Staff and everyone was treated to gift bags, a free pair of SSG Gloves, and prize opportunities! All net proceeds raised during the day were donated to Equine Guelph.

The OEF and Equine Guelph would like to send a special thanks to Kimberley & Jason Gorringe and the Jaybird Ranch staff, OEF Partners, the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion, SSG Gloves, and everyone who came out to celebrate Ride Day!

The OEF would also like to thank those that contributed to the Ride Day gift bags and prizes – Just Add Horses, Intercity Insurance Services Inc., Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre, Real Clean Gear, The Canadian Horse Journal, HorseJobs.ca, Canadian International Farm Equipment Show, McKee Pownall Equine Services, Paddocks Plus Fencing & Stabling Inc., System Fencing, Stalls & Equipment, The Best Bandages, Thermaview, and Willson Lewis LLP.
